We are going to turn our basement into a 3 bedroom apartment. Its a decent sized space of about 1100 sq feet. This first picture is of the entry way. Currently its the back door in our laundry room. Our plan in here is to cover the walls with drywall, remove the sink, replace the door because its damaged and doesn't even have a doorknob.

This is the other side of the laundry room. We will rip out the cabinets, cover the walls with drywall and build a closet around the washer and dryer. This room will be the dining room/foyer

This is the ceiling of the future kitchen. we have to cover the exposed pipes and ductwork

All the shelves and food storage has to be removed then we are going to put down vinyl flooring, electrical, plumbing, cabinets, sink, disposal, dishwasher, range, fridge, countertops. We'll be doing this project last because its the most difficult and expensive.

We want to replace the carpet to match the brown that's coming down the stairs. The carpet will go into the family room to cover the linoleum and into two of the bedrooms. The third bedroom already has new carpet from the previous owners. We have to get the walls taped and mudded and then painted some neutral color.

Wow. You really go all out. What does it mean to have something 'mudded'?
getting your walls mudded is when they put the plaster (mud) over the cracks where the drywall is pieced together to make the wall look seamless
